Working 9 to 5

Well, I will be from tomorrow, since I start my new job! My first “real” job. So the quantity, but hopefully not quality, of my blogging is likely to decrease as I will not be able to blog for at least eight hours of the day!

David Cameron and the Conservative Party are calling for Brown to “stop dithering” about whether or not to call an election, and effectively tells him to ‘bring it on’. At the same time, William Hague says at the conference in Blackpool that “the Conservative Party is ready, it is hungry for victory and if Gordon [...]

We all know that Labour have continually failed the military over the past decade. But now Gordon wants them to go even further, despite number of wars in which they are currently engaged.
Ministers have drawn up confidential proposals to slash the number of ships in the Royal Navy…The expected reductions follow a fierce row between [...]

This is just creepy and wrong:
A 24-year-old Argentine man has married a woman 58 years his senior. The groom, Reinaldo Waveqche, told reporters after the ceremony in Santa Fe, northern Argentina: “I’ve always liked mature ladies.”Mr Waveqche added: “I don’t care what other people say.” He and bride Adelfa Volpes, 82, are planning to travel to [...]

Sayeeda Warsi is accused of “pandering to racists” when she said:
There are a lot of people out there who are voting for the British National Party and it’s those people that we mustn’t just write off and say ‘well, we won’t bother because they are voting BNP or we won’t engage with them’. They have [...]

Alex Hilton, of Recess Monkey ‘fame’, has written an opinion piece in the Telegraph [via DK] in which he very much suggests that the next general election - whenever that is - will be fought on the internet.
It certainly won’t if it is this autumn. In fact, even if it isn’t it, it most likely [...]

Taxman Pacman

Taxman Gordon and his 111 stealth taxes have been turned into a Pacman game by the Conservative Party. It’s quite good timing considering the news that the tax burden has risen by 50% in the past decade.
The aim of the game is to make money whilst avoiding taxman Gordon and his 11 stealth tax rises. With [...]

Taxed 50% More

A 50% increase in just a decade? Only Gordon could do it.
The average family hands over 50 per cent more of their annual earnings in tax than they did before Labour came to power a decade ago…The soaring tax burden has been driven largely by the number of people falling into the higher stamp duty [...]

Watford is a perfect microcosm of modern Britain. It has nice suburbs, ethnic-minority ghettos, gentrified houses and tower blocks. It has youths skulking in clouds of cigarette smoke on street corners, pedestrianised high streets sucked souless by chain stores – and it has apathy.Apathy despite the fact that people in Watford, one of the tightest [...]

Self-Congratulatory Testimonials

79th best Conservative Blog - Iain Dale's Guide to Political Blogging 2006

54th Right of Centre blog - Iain Dale's Guide to Blogging 2007

"I like the way he handles a broad range of subjects in an engaging and friendly manner. Definitely one of the good guys." - Croydonian

"Right-Wing blogging from a UK student. A fresh perspective on a plethora of events with a healthy interest in shelf-stacking to boot." - Cityunslicker

"One of the more depressing aspects of blogging and the modern world is seeing reams of text on a page. The Thunder Dragon's mixture of politics and fun posts, with good illustrations and quickly made points makes his blog an accessible and fun place to discuss and think about politics... The Thunderdragon is one of the rising stars of conservative blogging" - Gracchi

"Already an A lister, technical whiz Thunder Dragon shows that not all A listers are stuck up stats groupies who’d sell their grandmothers for more traffic. And he’s on Iain Dale’s list for a reason – he’s simply a fine blogger, scoring highly on the ten point Dale criteria and with his finger always on the political pulse. He's also the technical brains behind Blogpower, along with Ian at Imagined Community." - James Higham

"The ThunderDragon consistently provides an interesting and enjoyable read - always entertaining and often insightful. His writing may even give us a foretaste of our political future. Stick with him. After all, time will cure his youth." - Tom Paine

"Thunder Dragon - Provocative and inventive, especially for this post about how to sort out the USA." - Matt Wardman

"... a cheeky young fire breather" - DuSanne

"A lovely little political blog... The articles are competently written with a small levening of opinion but not too much to annoy" - Baht At
